More Gun Sage Ideas

First of all, sorry for the lack of updates. Hopefully that will change now that I’m on a new schedule, though I’m running on 4 hours of sleep, so don’t count on it. Today I wanted to talk more about the battle system I’d like to have for Gun Sage. Previously I talked about how I wanted to incorporate many elements into one allowing for a true action RPG experience that sacrificed on neither front while also allowing for incredible gunplay and martial arts, emphasizing a need for both.

God Hand

General Overview

It’s like Hokuto no Ken (Fist of the North Star) as told by Clover Studios, creators of Viewtiful Joe and Okami, except wackier. It’s hilarious, over the top, fun as hell, and goddamn challenging after a while. True, this game may not be for everyone, but those it DOES appeal to will keep with the lols for some time.

Dark Spire

General Overview

When is something too much? When it reaches the level Dark Spire does. If you thought Etrian Odyssey was tough, you should probably look away. Dark Spire does everything it possibly can to present you with a terrible, difficult look at a first person dungeon crawler. And sadly, it does all this while attempting to hide behind the idea that it’s “retro.”

Shin Megami Tensei – Devil Survivor

General Overview

It’s Shin Megami Tensei as an SRPG on a portable. If that doesn’t get you going, consider the fact that there’s an interesting time mechanic, it’s based around survival, and you can change peoples’ fates. Still not enough? How about the fact that it has excellent music, visuals, difficulty, demon auctions, and a ridiculous amount of other features that are present in other SMTs? Now if THAT isn’t enough, I honestly don’t know what is.

Ghost Trick – Phantom Detective

General Overview

An odd, but very interesting and fun adventure/puzzle game that involves a murder mystery about your own death. In Ghost Trick, you’ll constantly be looking at the environment over and over again wondering how you can manipulate things to change the fates and outcomes of otherwise terrible events. While some might call this gimmicky, I personally enjoyed it, even though there is a bit of trial and error.
