Grand Theft Auto Series

GTA has been an interesting series that I’ve had a love/hate relationship with for many years. For many, when they say GTA, they’re referring to GTA3, 4, or possibly something along the line of San Andreas or Vice City. To avoid any confusion, I’m looking at the series as a whole and dishing out what I think, for better or worse.

The Great Steam Roundup – Episode 13

Ayup, it’s been a while since I’ve done one of these and I’ve gotten plenty of Steam titles since then, so we’re going to have another go at this. No real correlation of any sort this time, just 5 titles you should check out at your earliest convenience. Yup, I can definitely say I would recommend these. No duds here.

The Great Steam Roundup – Episode 7

Ya, another random assortment. It started out with me wanting to tackle all adventure games, but sadly I don’t really have that many left. And no, this isn’t some calling to arms for making adventure games (though I totally wouldn’t complain if it ended up forcing more out as a result), but I at least wanted to give you guys more of an idea of what’s available on steam.

God Hand

General Overview

It’s like Hokuto no Ken (Fist of the North Star) as told by Clover Studios, creators of Viewtiful Joe and Okami, except wackier. It’s hilarious, over the top, fun as hell, and goddamn challenging after a while. True, this game may not be for everyone, but those it DOES appeal to will keep with the lols for some time.

Manhunt 2

General Overview

Gore, violence, death, destruction, mayhem, murder, and plenty of other stuff you’d expect from just about any Rockstar game included all in one little package. Manhunt 2 gives us more, more, more…though it does end up a bit censored and kinda silly by the end of it. All the same, if you’re a fan of the original, it’s definitely worth checking out.

Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon

General Overview

With plenty of slapstick, gags, puns, and a number of jokes that were clearly lost in translation, Mystical Ninja impresses with its…hey, wait a minute. Okay, no, it isn’t the same game, but a lot of the humor, characters, and situations remain the same in this Zelda 64-esque title that…well, really could be a lot better…but is still very fun overall.

RPG of the Year – 2010

Same rules apply. I’ve cross referenced and double checked all the games on this list to confirm where and when they came out. North American release dates only and if I was unable to play the game, then I can’t count it. Again, I apologize if your favorite game didn’t make the top 5 and it could be because of what I just explained, but there are 43 games this year, so let’s hop to it!
